One of the great outcomes of the activity was that it began to raise the profile of languages. We are lucky in Oldham to have very enthusiastic staff at the City Learning Centre.

From Monday to Thursday the pupils are in four groups, and will produce each day a news report as TV, radio, web, and outside broadcast film. On Friday smaller groups are producing 'tri-media' reports: news stories covered from different angles as TV, radio and web.

All editorial decisions are being made by the pupils, following guidance provided by BBC News School Report. All research and interviews are being undertaken by the pupils, and all editing and technical creativity is the pupils' own as well, based on training provided by the CLC.

The participating schools are Breeze Hill, Counthill, Crompton House, Radclyffe and Saddleworth secondaries, and Broadfield, Burnley Brow, Chadderton Hall, Corpus Christii, Littlemoor, Richmond, St Annes, Stonleigh and Whitegate End primaries.
